Someone has likely blocked you on WhatsApp if you observe these signs together:
- You can no longer see their online status or last seen timestamp, although this alone is not definitive because users can hide this manually.
- Their profile picture disappears or stops updating for you.
- Messages you send only show one checkmark (message sent) but never the second checkmark (message delivered).
- You cannot see their status updates anymore.
- Attempts to add them to a WhatsApp group fail, or they do not appear in the group after adding.
- Calls to the contact do not ring or go through.
No single sign alone confirms a block—many can be caused by privacy settings or technical issues. But if multiple signs appear simultaneously about the same contact, it is a strong indication you have been blocked on WhatsApp. The app purposely does not notify users when blocked to protect privacy. Checking these signs together is the best way to know.
