You can see your Snapchat “Snap Recap” (year-in-review) inside the app if Snapchat has generated one for your account. The exact wording might be “Snapchat Recap,” “Snap Recap,” or “Year in Review,” but they all work similarly.
Check in Memories
- Open Snapchat to the main camera screen.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open Memories.
- At the top of the Memories screen, look for a highlighted card or video labeled something like “Your 2024/2025 Snap Recap” or “Recap.”
- Tap the card (anywhere except the small share icon) to watch your recap; you can then save or share it like a normal Story.
If you have a recap, Snapchat’s help pages state it will appear in Memories as a special Story generated from Snaps you saved that year.
Check your profile or notifications
Sometimes Snapchat also surfaces the recap from:
- Your Profile page: tap your Bitmoji/profile icon from the camera screen and look under your stories or Memories section for a “Recap” / “Year in Review” banner or card.
- In-app notifications: a pop-up or card on the main screen that says your recap is ready; tap it to open.
Recent guides show Snapchat experimenting with both a Memories card and a profile banner for recaps, so availability can vary slightly by app version and year.
If you don’t see it
If no recap appears:
- Make sure you updated Snapchat to the latest version in the App Store/Google Play.
- Close the app completely, reopen it, then check Memories again.
- Ensure you saved enough Snaps to Memories over the year; Snapchat notes that not every account will receive a recap if there is not enough content or if rollout is still in progress.
If you tell what phone you are on (iPhone or Android) and what you see when you swipe up to Memories, more tailored steps can be given.
