To use Apple Pay, follow these steps depending on whether you are paying in stores or online:
Paying in Stores or Other Places
With iPhone:
- If your iPhone has Face ID, double-click the side button, then authenticate with Face ID or enter your passcode to open Apple Wallet.
- If your iPhone has Touch ID, double-click the Home button or rest your finger on Touch ID.
- To pay with your default card, hold the top of your iPhone near the contactless reader until you see "Done" and a checkmark on the screen.
- To use a different card, tap your default card in Apple Wallet, select another card, authenticate, and then hold your iPhone near the reader
With Apple Watch:
- Double-click the side button.
- Your default card appears automatically; scroll to choose another card if desired.
- Hold the display of your Apple Watch near the contactless reader until you feel a gentle tap and hear a beep, indicating the payment is complete
Paying Online or In Apps
- When checking out, tap the Apple Pay button or select Apple Pay as your payment method.
- To use a different card than your default, tap "Other Cards" or "Change Payment Method."
- Confirm or enter your billing, shipping, and contact information if prompted.
- Authenticate the payment using Face ID, Touch ID, passcode, or Apple Watch double-click depending on your device.
- On a Mac with Touch ID, place your finger on Touch ID; on Macs without Touch ID, confirm payment via your connected iPhone or Apple Watch signed into the same Apple ID.
- After successful payment, you will see a "Done" message and a checkmark on the screen
Setting Up Apple Pay
- Open the Wallet app on your iPhone.
- Tap the "+" button to add a debit or credit card.
- Scan your card or enter details manually.
- Follow verification steps (such as receiving a code via text or email).
- Once verified, your card is ready to use with Apple Pay
