Cats can get pregnant as early as four months old. This is because female cats (queens) can go into heat and become fertile around that age. Although getting pregnant at four months is possible, most cats tend to become pregnant around 5 to 6 months old. Unspayed female cats can go into heat every 2 to 3 weeks from spring through autumn, allowing for early and frequent pregnancies if they are exposed to male cats. To prevent unwanted pregnancies, it is recommended to spay female cats before they reach sexual maturity, typically around four months old.
