Pregnancy symptoms can start to be felt as early as 1 to 2 weeks after conception. Some of the earliest signs include spotting or light bleeding (implantation bleeding), mild cramping, breast tenderness and swelling, fatigue, and nausea. These symptoms are caused by hormonal changes in the body as it adjusts to pregnancy. While some women may notice symptoms within days, others might not feel any symptoms until after a missed period, around 4 weeks of pregnancy. The most common early symptom leading to suspicion of pregnancy is a missed period, followed by breast changes and fatigue. Nausea typically begins around 4 to 6 weeks of pregnancy but can appear earlier for some women.
