The Trump shooter was approximately 400 to 500 feet (about 120 to 150 meters) away from former President Donald Trump during the shooting at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The shooter fired from an elevated position on the rooftop of a nearby building outside the rally venue's security perimeter. This distance was close enough for a capable marksman to hit a human-sized target from the roof where the gunman was positioned.
