Jane Goodall lived and conducted research with chimpanzees for over 60 years. She began her study in July 1960 at the Gombe Stream Chimpanzee Reserve in Tanzania and continued her work there for more than six decades, making it the longest-running wild chimpanzee study in the world. Her research profoundly impacted the understanding of chimpanzee behavior and human evolution and continues under the Jane Goodall Institute to this day.
