Poison oak rash typically lasts from about 1 to 3 weeks. If a person has had a rash from poison oak before, the rash tends to last 1 to 14 days. For those who have never had a rash from poison oak, it can last 21 days or longer before clearing completely. The rash goes through stages including itching, redness, blisters, and then healing as the blisters crust over. In severe cases, the rash can last up to 30 days or more.
