However, due to stoppages for injuries, penalties, and other interruptions, the total duration of an NRL game usually lasts about 90 to 100 minutes from start to finish. In rare cases with multiple stoppages, it can stretch up to nearly three hours. The final whistle only blows after the last play is completed post the 80 minutes of game time.
