According to Section 6 of the National Service Training Program (NSTP) Act in the Philippines, students are required to take the NSTP for an academic period of two semesters. Each semester involves 54 to 90 training hours and the program carries three (3) units per semester, totaling six (6) units for completion. Alternatively, a one-summer program may be designed for completing the NSTP in lieu of the two-semester program, subject to the approval and capability of relevant authorities. This duration is consistent across higher education and technical-vocational institutions as a requisite for graduation.
