There are currently 18 teams in the Australian Football League (AFL) as of 2025. The league will expand to 19 teams in 2028 with the addition of the Tasmania Devils franchise. These 18 teams are spread across Australia's five mainland states, with the majority in Victoria. The AFL has a rich history and a strong fan base with an average attendance of around 32,000 per game.
