A standard deck of playing cards contains 52 cards. These are divided into:
- 4 suits: Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, and Spades
- Each suit has 13 cards: numbers 2 through 10, plus Jack, Queen, King, and Ace
If you include jokers, some decks have 2 extra cards, making a total of 54 cards. But the standard deck used for most card games is 52 cards.
