There are commonly seven continents in the world: Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia (Oceania), Europe, North America, and South America. However, the exact number can vary depending on the definition and perspective used. Some models combine Europe and Asia into one continent called Eurasia due to their continuous landmass, or merge North and South America into one continent called America. This means some consider there to be as few as four, five, or six continents, while others stick to the traditional seven-continent model most widely accepted globally.
