There are generally seven continents in the world according to the most widely accepted model. These seven continents are:
- Asia
- Africa
- North America
- South America
- Antarctica
- Europe
- Australia (sometimes referred to as Oceania when including surrounding islands)
However, this number can vary depending on different models or cultural perspectives. Some models combine Europe and Asia into Eurasia, or North and South America into a single America continent, resulting in fewer continents counted (such as four, five, or six continents). But the seven-continent model is the most commonly taught and recognized worldwide.
