There are generally seven continents in the world according to most widely accepted standards. These continents are Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia (sometimes called Oceania when including surrounding islands).
However, it's worth noting that the exact number can vary based on different models or definitions. Some models consolidate continents such as combining Europe and Asia into Eurasia, or North and South America into a single America, resulting in fewer continents counted—sometimes as few as four, five, or six. But the prevailing global consensus, especially in English-speaking countries and many others, is seven continents.
