There are 25 High Courts in India as of 2025. These High Courts serve as the highest judicial bodies in their respective states or union territories. Some High Courts have jurisdiction over more than one state or union territory. For example, the Punjab and Haryana High Court covers Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh.
