Venus has no moons. It is one of only two planets in our solar system without a natural satellite, the other being Mercury
. Scientists are still investigating why Venus lacks a moon, but possible explanations include the effects of strong solar tides destabilizing any moons or past collisions that may have caused any former moons to spiral inward and collide with the planet
. Venus does have a quasi-satellite named Zoozve, but this is not a true moon
