Ten people died at the Astroworld Festival in Houston during a crowd crush incident on November 5, 2021. The deaths were caused by compression asphyxia as the crowd surged, tightly packing attendees so that many could not breathe or move. The victims ranged in age from 9 to 27 years old. In addition to the fatalities, over 300 people were injured at the event.
