Approximately 20 survivors were rescued from the rubble after the collapse of the World Trade Center during the 9/11 attacks. This included 12 firefighters, three Port Authority police officers, and other civilians. The last survivor was rescued 27 hours after the North Tower collapsed. Additionally, about 39 people survived from the South Tower impact zone, and around 16 individuals inside the collapsing North Tower survived while trying to evacuate. Overall, rescue efforts managed to pull out a small number of survivors from the debris, with many others tragically lost in the collapse and aftermath.
