In a One Day International (ODI) cricket match, there are three powerplay periods:
- The first powerplay is from overs 1 to 10, during which a maximum of two fielders are allowed outside the 30-yard circle.
- The second powerplay spans overs 11 to 40, where up to four fielders can be outside the 30-yard circle.
- The third powerplay covers the final 10 overs, from overs 41 to 50, allowing up to five fielders outside the circle.
All three powerplays are mandatory in an uninterrupted 50-over match, and there are no longer separate batting or bowling powerplays as used to be the case in earlier rules
