AAA allows a limited number of free tows per year based on your membership level:
- Basic (Classic) and Plus members get 4 tows per year.
- Premier members get 1 extended tow (up to 200 miles) plus 3 standard tows.
Each membership tier also has different maximum free towing distances per tow: Basic covers about 5-7 miles, Plus covers up to 100 miles, and Premier covers 1 tow up to 200 miles and others up to 100 miles.
So, with AAA, you generally get 4 tows per year under basic or plus plans, and 4 tows (one of which can be longer distance) under the premier plan. Additional tows beyond the limit may incur fees.
