A PODS container's weight capacity depends on its size:
- An 8-foot PODS container can hold up to 5,200 pounds.
- A 12-foot PODS container can hold up to 4,700 pounds.
- A 16-foot PODS container can hold up to 4,200 pounds.
These weight limits are designed to ensure safe transport and handling. For instance, the largest 16-foot container holds about 4,200 pounds and roughly 835 cubic feet of space, suitable for the contents of a 3-4 bedroom home. Exceeding these limits is generally not advised for operational reasons, but there's no fee for going over weight; adjustments and extra containers might be needed if limits are exceeded.
