Bearded dragons poop frequency varies mainly with their age. Hatchlings poop 1 to 3 times a day due to high metabolism and protein-rich diet. Juveniles poop about once a day or every other day. Adults poop less frequently, ranging from 1 to 7 times a week, typically once every 1 to 3 days on average. Several factors influence this frequency, such as diet, hydration, activity level, temperature, lighting, stress, and even brumation (a hibernation-like state). Adult bearded dragons eating more greens might poop less frequently, while those on higher protein diets poop more often. It's normal for some adults to poop only once a week, especially if older or less active. If a bearded dragon hasn't pooped in 5 to 7 days or shows changes in poop color or consistency, a vet should be consulted for health concerns.
