Formula-fed babies typically poop several times a day in the first few weeks of life. After about 6 weeks, this usually settles to an average of once a day. It is normal for formula-fed babies' stools to be firmer, darker brown, and have a stronger smell compared to breastfed babies. Occasionally, formula- fed babies might poop every other day, but the poop should always be soft. If a baby under 8 weeks old does not poop for 2-3 days, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional as constipation is more common in formula- fed babies.
