After wisdom teeth removal, it is generally recommended to wait at least 24 hours before eating solid foods. During the first 24 hours, stick to soft and liquid foods such as broth, yogurt, applesauce, or pudding, and avoid hot or chewy foods to allow the surgical sites to start healing. From days 2 to 3, you can gradually introduce soft, more filling foods like mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, and soft pasta, but still avoid anything hot, hard, crunchy, or requiring a lot of chewing. By days 4 to 7, you can start eating more varieties of soft foods like cooked vegetables and shredded chicken, and by around 2 weeks, if healing is going well, you may slowly return to more solid foods while chewing carefully on the opposite side of the mouth. Full normal eating typically resumes by 3 to 4 weeks after surgery.
