Cats can get pregnant as early as 4 months old. Female cats (queens) reach sexual maturity around this age and can go into heat every 2 to 3 weeks during the breeding season, making it possible for them to conceive shortly after reaching this age. Because cats have a short pregnancy period of about 63-65 days (roughly 2 months), they can start having kittens by the time they are about 6 months old if they mate as soon as they reach sexual maturity. This early pregnancy can be risky for very young queens.

Spaying female kittens before they reach 4 months old is recommended to prevent early and unwanted pregnancies.
