You can often know if you're pregnant as early as 6 to 8 days after ovulation using the most sensitive home pregnancy tests. These tests detect the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in urine, which begins to appear after the fertilized egg implants into the uterine wall, usually about a week after ovulation. Some early detection tests can give results up to 6 days before your missed period, but testing very early may lead to false negatives if hCG levels are not yet high enough to detect. For the most accurate result, testing from the day your period is due or later is recommended, when tests are over 99% accurate. Early pregnancy symptoms may start to be noticeable about a week or two after conception, but the most reliable confirmation is through a pregnancy test.
