Most women feel their baby move between 16 and 22 weeks during their second pregnancy, but it is possible to feel movements a bit earlier, sometimes as early as 13 to 16 weeks. In second and subsequent pregnancies, women often recognize those tiny fluttering movements, called quickening, sooner than in the first pregnancy because they know what to expect. Early movement sensations may feel like fluttering, butterflies, or gentle nudges and become more pronounced as the baby grows. It's also more common to feel the baby move when resting or lying down quietly.
