Mount Kilimanjaro is approximately 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) tall above sea level. This height is widely accepted as the official elevation and is the figure displayed on the sign at the summit, Uhuru Peak. More recent measurements using advanced technology suggest slightly different values close to this, ranging from about 5,890 to 5,895 meters, but 5,895 meters remains the most commonly cited height for Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world.
