To apply lashes, follow these steps:
- Prepare the lashes : Ensure that the lashes are comfortable and not too extended, which can cause discomfort or pull on the eyes. Trim the lashes if necessary to fit your eye shape
- Choose the appropriate adhesive : The main ingredient in lash extension adhesives is cyanoacrylate, a quick-drying acrylic resin. Some adhesives may also contain other ingredients like cocoa butter, biotin, hydrolyzed rice, wheat, and soy protein, as well as vitamin B3
. Make sure to use a sensitive and gentle adhesive if you have sensitive eyes
- Apply the adhesive : Apply a small amount of lash lifting cream or adhesive from the root to 1/3 up the lash for a lift and maximum 1/2 way up the lash for a lift and slight curl, using a micro-applicator
- Wait for the adhesive to dry : The processing time varies depending on the individual's lashes and the product used. For very fine lashes, the processing time is usually 4-5 minutes, while for natural healthy lashes, it is 6-8 minutes
- Remove the adhesive : Use a clean micro-applicator to remove the adhesive, and place the used micro-applicator in the bin
- Apply the lashes : Place a collagen pad under each eye, ensuring that the bottom lashes are secured under them. Choose the appropriate shields and trim them to fit as required. Apply bonder to the back of the shield and place it in position on the eyelid close to the root, holding it in place for 20 seconds. Apply bonder to the shield in small sections and lift the lashes from the root using the lash tool, gradually moving along the shield until all lashes are bonded to the shields
Remember to avoid using oils, such as mineral oil, vegetable oil, coconut oil, and canola oil, as they can weaken the adhesive on your lash extensions
. Additionally, be cautious around heat and moisture, as they can dissolve the cyanoacrylate in the adhesives
