How to Block Your Number When Making a Call (Hide Caller ID)
- Temporarily hide your number for a single call:
Dial *67 before the phone number you want to call. This will block your number from appearing on the recipient's caller ID for that call only. The recipient will see "Private" or "Blocked" instead of your number
- Permanently hide your number on iPhone:
- Go to Settings > Phone
- Tap Show My Caller ID
- Toggle it off to hide your number on all outgoing calls
- Permanently hide your number on Android:
- Open the Phone app
- Tap the three dots (menu) > Settings > Calls > Additional settings > Caller ID
- Select Hide number to block your number on all outgoing calls
- Check network default caller ID setting:
Dial *#31# and press call to see if your caller ID is restricted or unrestricted by your carrier
How to Block Incoming Calls from Specific Numbers
- On Android:
- Open the Phone app
- Go to Call History
- Tap the number you want to block
- Tap Block / report spam
You can also block unknown or private numbers in Settings > Blocked numbers > toggle Unknown
- On iPhone:
