To boot Windows 11 in Safe Mode, the most common method is as follows:
- Click the Start menu.
- Click the Power button.
- Hold down the Shift key and click Restart.
- The system will reboot to the Recovery menu.
- Select Troubleshoot → Advanced Options → Startup Settings → Restart.
- When the Startup Settings screen appears, press 4 or F4 to boot into Safe Mode.
- Press 5 or F5 to boot into Safe Mode with Networking.
- Press 6 or F6 to boot into Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
Alternatively, you can access Safe Mode through the Settings app by going to System → Recovery → Advanced Startup → Restart Now, then follow the same Recovery menu steps above. You can also forcibly trigger Safe Mode after repeatedly interrupting the boot process three times, which causes Windows to enter the Recovery Environment on the next boot. To exit Safe Mode, simply restart your computer normally. If Windows keeps booting into Safe Mode, use msconfig (System Configuration) to uncheck "Safe boot" under the Boot tab and restart your PC. These methods provide various ways to boot Windows 11 in Safe Mode for troubleshooting purposes.
