To change an Apple password, follow these steps based on the device you are using: On iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or Apple Vision Pro:
- Go to Settings.
- Tap your name at the top.
- Select Sign-In & Security.
- Tap Change Password.
- Enter your current password or device passcode.
- Enter your new password and confirm it.
- Tap Change.
On a Mac:
- Choose Apple menu > System Settings.
- Click your name.
- Click Sign-In & Security.
- Click Change Password.
- Enter the password used to unlock your Mac, then create a new password.
On the web:
- Go to account.apple.com and sign in.
- Go to Sign-In and Security.
- Choose Password.
- Enter your current password, then the new password and confirm it.
- Choose Change Password.
If you have Family Sharing and want to change a child's password, you can do this from your device under Settings > Family > child’s account > Apple Account & Password > Change Password. Your new password should be strong: at least eight characters, with uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Avoid easily guessable information.
