To change the country in the Google Play Store, follow these steps:
On Mobile Device
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap the profile icon at the top right corner.
- Go to Settings > General > Account and device preferences.
- Tap Country and profiles.
- If you are physically in the new country, Google will show an option to switch to that country based on your IP address.
- Select the new country and add a payment method from that country.
- Fill in the required address details and submit.
Note: You can only change your Play Store country once per year, and the change may take up to 48 hours to take effect
On Desktop (via browser)
- Go to pay.google.com and sign in.
- Navigate to Settings > Payments profile.
- Next to Country/Region , click the pencil icon to edit.
- Create a new payments profile for the new country.
- Add a valid payment method and address for that country.
- After setting up, the Play Store will automatically switch to the new country.
Make sure your IP address matches the new country, or use a VPN if needed
Important Notes
- You must be physically present in the new country or use a VPN with an IP from that country.
- You cannot use your old Google Play balance in the new country.
- You can only change your country once every 12 months.
- Some subscriptions or apps may not be available after switching countries
This process allows access to apps, games, and content specific to the new country’s Play Store catalog.
