To change your default Google account, you need to sign out of all accounts and then sign back in with the account you want to set as default first. Here is a step-by-step guide for desktop and mobile:

On Desktop

  1. Open your web browser and go to any Google service (e.g., google.com).
  2. Click your profile picture in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Sign out of all accounts.
  4. Sign in again with the Google account you want as your default first.
  5. After that, sign in to any other Google accounts you want to use.
  6. Verify by clicking your profile picture again; the first account listed is your new default

On Mobile

Android

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll to Google and tap the arrow next to your account.
  3. Select Manage accounts on this device.
  4. Remove all Google accounts.
  5. Sign in first with the account you want as your default.
  6. Then add your other accounts

iOS

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap Mail , then Accounts.
  3. Remove all Google accounts.
  4. Sign in first with the account you want as your default.
  5. Add other accounts afterward

Important Notes

  • The first Google account you sign in to after signing out of all accounts becomes your default.
  • You cannot change the default account without signing out of all accounts first.
  • After setting the default, you can switch between accounts easily by clicking your profile picture and selecting another account

This process applies to all Google services such as Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, and YouTube.
