How to Change Mobile Number in Aadhaar
- Visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre or Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
- Fill out the Aadhaar Update/Correction Form available at the centre. You can also download and fill the form beforehand.
- Submit the form along with your Aadhaar card. No other documents are required for updating the mobile number.
- Authenticate your identity by providing biometric verification (fingerprint or iris scan) at the centre.
- Pay a nominal fee of Rs. 50 for the update service.
- After submission, you will receive an acknowledgement slip containing an Update Request Number (URN).
- You can use this URN to check the status of your mobile number update request online on the UIDAI website.
- The update process usually takes up to 30 days to reflect in the Aadhaar database.
Additional Information
- You do not need to provide the old mobile number or any proof of ownership for the new mobile number.
- Once updated, you will receive OTPs and other Aadhaar-related notifications on the new mobile number.
- There is no need to get a new Aadhaar card printed after updating the mobile number.
- To book an appointment at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra, you can use the UIDAI website's "Book an Appointment" feature.
