To charge AirPods, place the AirPods inside their charging case. The case can be charged using a Lightning cable or USB-C cable depending on your model, or wirelessly if you have a compatible wireless or MagSafe charging case. The AirPods will charge automatically when in the case. You can also charge the case itself with or without the AirPods inside. Wireless charging for the case is done by placing it on a Qi-certified charging mat or MagSafe charger with the lid closed and the status light facing up. Charging is typically fastest using an iPhone, iPad USB charger, or Mac. The status light on the case indicates the charging status: green means fully charged, amber means charging or less than a full charge.
