To check the balance on a Walmart Mastercard, the fastest option is usually to log in to the card’s online account or mobile app and view the balance there. For a Walmart MoneyCard, Walmart says the balance appears at the top of the app home screen, and you can also check it by logging in online.
If your card supports text alerts, Walmart also says you can register a mobile number and text the command BAL Last4 to 96411 , replacing Last4 with the last four digits of your card number. That same page says you can text HIST Last4 to 96411 to see recent transactions.
Other ways to check
You can also check the balance by signing in at WalmartMoneyCard.com, where the balance and transaction history are available 24/7. If you already use the app, that’s usually the simplest route because the balance is shown right away after login.
If you’re trying to check a Walmart gift card rather than a reloadable Mastercard, the process is different. Walmart’s gift card page asks for the card number and PIN on the balance-check page, so make sure you’re using the right card type.
What to have ready
Have your card number handy before you start. For text balance checks, you’ll need the last four digits of the card number, and for online access you may need to sign in to your account first. If you’re using a gift card balance page instead, you’ll typically need the full card number and PIN.
If the balance does not show
If the app or website does not show your balance, the card may not be activated, your login may be incorrect, or you may be on the wrong balance page for your card type. In that case, recheck whether you have a Walmart MoneyCard, a Walmart Mastercard, or a Walmart gift card, because the balance- check method depends on the card.
