To check your Green Card (Diversity Visa) Lottery results, follow these steps:
- Go to the official Entrant Status Check website at dvprogram.state.gov/ESC/.
- Enter the required information:
- Your unique confirmation number received when you applied.
- Your last/family name exactly as entered in your application.
- Your year of birth.
- Complete the CAPTCHA or authentication code shown on the page.
- Submit the form to see your result.
- If selected, you will see a message confirming you have been randomly selected along with further instructions on how to proceed.
- If not selected, the message will state that you were not chosen this time.
Important notes:
- The U.S. Department of State does not send emails or letters to notify entrants of selection; you must check your status yourself online.
- Keep your confirmation number safe; if lost, you can recover it using the "Forgot Confirmation Number" tool on the official site by providing your name, birth year, and email used during registration.
- The result portal for the DV-2026 lottery is open from May 3, 2025, until at least September 30, 2026.

After checking, if you are selected and meet eligibility requirements, you can apply for an immigrant visa by submitting Form DS-260 and preparing for a visa interview at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate
