To clean a microwave with lemon, follow these simple steps:
- Measure about half a cup of water and pour it into a microwave-safe bowl.
- Cut a lemon in half, squeeze the juice into the water, and then drop the lemon halves (or rinds) into the bowl.
- Place the bowl inside the microwave and heat it on high for about 3 to 5 minutes until the water boils and the microwave becomes steamy.
- After microwaving, leave the door closed and let the bowl sit inside for 5 to 15 minutes. The steam will loosen grime and food splatters while the lemon freshens the microwave.
- Carefully remove the bowl and wipe down the inside of the microwave with a damp cloth. Don't forget to clean the turntable and the door.
- For stubborn stains, the steam and lemon acid make wiping easier and more effective.
This natural cleaning method not only cleans well but also leaves a pleasant fresh lemon scent inside the microwave.
