To clear your Google search history, follow these steps:
- Sign in to your Google account on any device by going to the Google homepage and clicking the sign-in button in the top right corner.
- Go to Google’s My Activity page by visiting myactivity.google.com. This page shows a chronological list of your Google activity, including search history.
- Delete your search history:
- Click on the three dots (“⋮”) near the search bar and select “Delete activity by.”
- Choose the time range for deletion: last hour, last day, all time, or a custom range.
- To delete only search history, deselect all products except “Search.”
- Click “Next,” then confirm by clicking “Delete.” This will permanently remove your selected search history from your account.
- Alternatively, on mobile devices (Android or iOS):
- Open the Google app.
- Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner and select “Search history.”
- Tap “Delete” and choose the desired time range (e.g., “Delete all time” to clear everything).
- Confirm the deletion.
- Optional: Pause future search history saving
- On the My Activity page, you can turn off “Web & App Activity” to prevent Google from saving future searches.
Deleting your Google search history removes past searches from your account, which stops them from influencing personalized search results or recommendations
