To connect AirPods, the process varies slightly depending on the device but generally follows these steps: For Apple devices like iPhone, iPad, or Mac:
- Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
- With the AirPods in the charging case, open the case and hold it near your device.
- A setup animation should appear on the device screen; tap "Connect."
- For AirPods Pro 3 or AirPods 4, you may double-tap the front of the case until the status light flashes white if the animation does not appear.
- Once connected, your AirPods will automatically be set up with any other Apple devices signed in to the same Apple account.
For manual pairing if no animation appears:
- For AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods 4: Open the case with AirPods inside, then double-tap the front of the case until the light flashes white.
- For other AirPods models: Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case until the light flashes white.
- Then go to the Bluetooth settings on your device and select your AirPods from the list.
For Android devices:
- Turn on Bluetooth in the Android device's settings.
- Open the AirPods case with the AirPods inside.
- Press and hold the button on the back of the case until the status light flashes white.
- Select the AirPods from the list of available Bluetooth devices on your Android device and follow any prompts.
For Windows PC or other Bluetooth-enabled devices:
- Turn on Bluetooth in the device's settings.
- Put AirPods in pairing mode by opening the charging case and pressing the button on the back (or double-tap the front in some cases for newer models).
- Select AirPods in the device’s Bluetooth menu to connect.
This covers major scenarios including first-time setup and manual pairing for AirPods versions up to the fourth generation and AirPods Pro 3, as well as different device types.
