To copy and paste on a Mac, the simplest and fastest way is to use keyboard shortcuts:
- Select the text or item you want to copy.
- Press Command (⌘) + C to copy the selected item.
- Move the cursor to where you want to paste the item.
- Press Command (⌘) + V to paste it.
Alternatively, you can use Control-click (right-click) on the selected item to open a shortcut menu, then choose Copy or Paste. You can also use the menu bar at the top of the screen, selecting Edit > Copy and Edit > Paste.
If you want to paste text without keeping the original formatting, use Shift + Command + V instead of Command + V. This pastes the text in the style of the destination.
Summary:
- Copy: Command + C
- Paste: Command + V
- Paste without formatting: Shift + Command + V
- Context menu: Control-click and select Copy/Paste
- Menu bar: Edit > Copy/Paste
This works for text, images, files, and other items on your Mac.
