To create an IRCTC account, follow these steps:
- Visit the IRCTC Registration Page
Go to the official IRCTC website or use an authorized platform like RailYatri or the IRCTC Rail Connect mobile app available on Android and iOS
- Click on the 'Sign Up' or 'Register' Link
On the homepage, find and click the "Sign Up" or "Register" option to start the registration process
- Fill in the Required Details
- Enter a unique username.
- Create a password (6 to 8 characters).
- Provide a valid email ID and mobile number (these must not be previously registered).
- Enter your full name, date of birth, gender, nationality, occupation, and marital status.
- Fill in your address details including PIN code
- Accept Terms and Conditions
Agree to the IRCTC terms and conditions to proceed
- Complete Captcha and Submit
Enter the captcha code and submit the registration form
- Verify Mobile Number and Email
You will receive OTPs (One-Time Passwords) on your registered mobile number and email. Enter these OTPs to verify your account
- Account Creation Confirmation
After successful verification, you will see a confirmation message that your IRCTC account has been created
- Login and Use Your Account
Use your username and password to log in. You can also set up a PIN or biometric login for easier access in the future
Additional Notes:
- Registration is free for Indian users; foreign nationals need to register via the IRCTC website and pay a registration fee
- Make sure your mobile number and email are valid and unique to avoid registration issues
