To deactivate a Facebook account in 2025, follow these steps: On the Facebook mobile app:
- Open the Facebook app on your phone.
- Tap the menu button (three lines) at the bottom or top right.
- Tap the gear icon (settings) in the top right of the menu.
- Select "See more" and then "Account Center."
- Scroll down and tap "Personal details" then "Account ownership and control."
- Tap "Deactivation or deletion."
- Select the Facebook account to deactivate.
