To delete your Facebook account permanently, follow these steps: From the Facebook app (iPhone or Android):
- Open the Facebook app.
- Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) — bottom right on iPhone, top right on Android.
- Tap the gear icon (Settings) or select Settings & Privacy, then Accounts Centre or See more in Accounts Centre.
- Select Personal details.
- Tap Account ownership and control.
- Choose Deactivation or deletion.
- Select the Facebook account you want to delete.
- Choose Delete account and tap Continue.
- Optionally provide a reason for deleting, then tap Continue.
- Follow the prompts, including entering your password to confirm.
- Confirm the deletion.
Your account will be deactivated immediately and permanently deleted after about 30 days if you do not log back in during that time, which cancels the deletion process
. From a web browser:
- Log into Facebook.
- Click your profile picture in the top-right corner.
- Select Settings & Privacy, then Settings.
- Click Accounts Centre on the left.
- Choose Personal details > Account Ownership and Control.
- Select Deactivation or Deletion.
- Choose the account to delete, then select Delete account.
- Click Continue and enter your password to confirm.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process
Note: Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, posts, messages, and media. Facebook provides a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel deletion by logging back in
