To do slow motion on an iPhone, follow these steps:
- Open the Camera app on your iPhone.
- Swipe to select the "Slo-mo" mode from the options at the bottom of the screen.
- Optionally, go to Settings > Camera > Record Slo-mo to choose the frame rate and resolution for better slow-motion quality.
- Compose your shot and tap the red record button to start recording in slow motion.
- Tap the stop button to end the recording.
- To edit the slow-motion effect, open the recorded video in the Photos app, tap Edit, and adjust the white vertical lines beneath the video timeline to customize where slow motion starts and ends.
Additionally, for pre-recorded videos not shot in Slo-mo mode, you can use the iMovie app or other video editing apps like YouCam Video or CapCut to apply slow-motion effects by adjusting the speed of the video clip. This method applies to iPhone models from iPhone 11 and newer running iOS 13 or later, and the front camera also supports slow motion in these cases.
