To edit the “About” / “About you” section on Facebook, you need to go into your profile editing screen and change your info there.
On the Facebook mobile app
- Open Facebook and go to your profile:
- Tap your profile picture or your name from the home screen.
- Open the edit screen:
- Tap “Edit profile”; if you don’t see it, tap the three dots (…) near your profile picture and choose “Edit profile” or “Edit details.”
- Find the About/Info area:
- Scroll down and tap “Edit your about info,” “About info,” or a similar option.
- Edit “About you” and other details:
- Look for “Details about you,” “Bio,” or text that currently appears in your About section.
- Tap the pencil/edit icon next to it, change the text, or delete it if you don’t want anything there.
- Adjust who can see it:
- Next to many fields, there is an audience icon (like Public, Friends, Only me); tap it if you want to change visibility.
- Save:
- Tap “Save” or similar to apply changes; your About section updates immediately.
On Facebook desktop (computer)
- Go to your profile:
- Click your name or profile picture at the top of Facebook to open your profile page.
- Open profile editing:
- Click “Edit profile” under your cover photo; if needed, click the three dots (…) by your profile photo and choose “Edit profile.”
- Open About info:
- Scroll down in the panel and click “Edit your about info” or “About info.”
- Change “Details about you”:
- In the About area, find a section like “Details about you,” “About you,” or “Bio.”
- Click the pencil/edit icon, update or remove the text, then save.
If some old “About you” text does not show in the usual fields, try:
- Desktop only: “Edit profile” → scroll to “About info” → “Edit your about info” → “Details about you” or “Life events,” then edit or delete from there.
