To enable Secure Boot on MSI motherboards with Click BIOS, the key steps are:
- Enter BIOS by pressing the Delete key during startup.
- Switch to Advanced Mode if in Easy Mode (press F7).
- Go to Settings > Advanced > Windows OS Configuration.
- Change the BIOS mode from CSM to UEFI if it is not already set to UEFI.
- Save changes and reboot the system once to apply UEFI mode.
- Re-enter BIOS, go to Settings > Advanced > Windows OS Configuration > Secure Boot.
- Enable Secure Boot here, then save changes and reboot again.
This process requires switching from legacy BIOS mode (CSM) to UEFI mode first because Secure Boot only works in UEFI mode. After enabling Secure Boot, you can verify it in Windows by checking System Information (run "msinfo32") to see the Secure Boot state. Additional notes:
- Sometimes, Secure Boot mode needs to be set to "Custom" with "Maximum Security" preset depending on the BIOS version.
- TPM can be enabled separately under Security > Trusted Computing for Windows 11 compatibility.
- If Secure Boot cannot be enabled, make sure CSM is disabled and UEFI is properly set before retrying.
This method works specifically for MSI Click BIOS (version 1 and 5) and is confirmed by multiple user guides and videos.
