To figure out your ring size, follow these steps:
- Take a strip of paper or a piece of string and wrap it snugly around the base of the finger you want to measure. Make sure it's not too tight or too loose.
- Mark the point where the ends of the paper or string meet.
- Lay the strip flat and measure the length from the end to the mark in millimeters — this is the circumference of your finger.
- Divide this circumference by 3.14 (Pi) to get the diameter in millimeters.
- Use this diameter to find your ring size on a ring size chart.
Additional tips:
- Measure your finger at the end of the day when fingers tend to be largest.
- If your knuckle is larger than the base of your finger, measure both and pick a size in between.
- Measure multiple times for accuracy.
- You can also measure an existing ring that fits well by measuring its internal diameter with a ruler and converting that measurement to your ring size.
There are many ring size charts available online that convert circumference or diameter to standard sizes used in different regions (US, UK, Europe, etc.).
